closer look HPI Switch
HPI's Switch is a very simple, fast to build chassis. You can adjust almost nothing on this chassis. Build it, have fun. It is a great way to much fun without spending much money.

The kit comes with a good looking Abarth 500 body.
There is not much in the box. The chassis consists not of many parts. Motor and wheels are included.
The tub chassis has a high quality. For a m-chassis it is rather spacious.
Nicely shaped underside.
Simple and robust diff.
The outdrive cups are made of plastic. The axle is made of steel. They are connected by a pin which is held in place by an aluminium ring.
The diff and spur gear in place it looks like the rear half of a 4WD.
A 35T motor is included. Also an aluminium 48dp 25T pinion gear. The hook-like tool helps you to get the right position of the gear on the motor shaft.
Motor in place. A projection in the motor carrier keeps the right distance between spur gear and pinion gear. If you want to use other pinion gears you have to cut the projection.
A snap-in cover protects the gears.
The lower suspension arms are same on the left and right, front and rear. The same knuckles can be used on front and rear. The upper extension acts like a kingpin. Later the damper spring is put on it.
The front suspension module fully assembled.
You have the choice of a long (left) or short bumper plate. A urethane bumper is not included and there is no mount for it.
A clip (right) keeps the knuckles in place and connects the suspension to the bulkhead/upper arm.
Dogbones will spin the wheels.
The rear suspension module. On top is the 225mm version, on bottom the 210mm wheelbase.
The short version has a build-in diffuser.
Depending on the wheelbase the upper arms are mounted in different positions. On the photo is the long version.
And here the 210mm version.
The fully assembled rear suspension.
The steering arms. Only the steering contains no bearing in this kit. It is strongly recommended to use the optional steering bearings.
The whole kit does not use ballheads; only kingpins. For less play in the steering it is recommended to exchange them for ballheads.
A simple servo saver is included.
The servo is placed behind the motor. A long plastic rod connects it to the steering.
A snap-in battery brace is comfortable. The battery tray measures 140mm x 48mm.
The chassis is very versatile. HPI designed it in a way which enables the use of as many bodies as possible. The body mounts can be mounted in many different positions and differerent lengths are included.
Also many hubs are included. You can use 0mm. 2mm, 4mm or 6mm offset.
Tires and wheels are included.
